About

Ella-Mae Spinali is an artist and educator. She earned her Masters degree in Art Education from the Maine College of Art & Design in May 2025. Prior to her masters education, she attended the Maine College of Art & Design for her undergrad and earned her Bachelors of Fine Arts degree in Textile & Fashion Design in May 2024.

Ella-Mae Spinali is a textile artist from New York. Growing up in an Italian-American and French household, she has often been inspired by the communities created around food. As food is a form of sustenance, her practice is sustained by the relationships she’s made surrounding food. Influenced by food in all forms, she takes color inspiration from the meals she grew up with and currently makes. As her interest in food grew, so did her interest in pattern. Striped patterns act as a way for her to express all of these interests throughout her bodies of work.

As an educator, she turns to her practice as a source of inspiration in education. She is committed to fostering a safe, fun, and creative learning environment for all students and plans to pursue a life where she finds herself immersed in continuous creativity, collaboration, and community.
