Food has always been an important part of my life and has consistently influenced my work. As food provides sustenance, it also is what connects me to other people. This BFA thesis, Not For ourselves, but For Each Other, explores the concept of sustenance through the lens of friendship. Almost every night, my friend and I make dinner together. We like to say that we make food not just for ourselves but for each other. Just as food and friendship sustain my personal life, I turned to weaving as a form of sustenance in my artistic practice.
